SPECIAL CRACKUTIL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MICROSOFT VISTA USERS ONLY
For Microsoft Vista, an additional step is needed after installation on all versions.
Right click on the CrackUtil icon and scroll to Properties. Select Properties and then on the next panel, select Compatability and then click Run this program as an administrator. This only need to be done once right after installation.
Note the check in the Run this program as an administrator box. This only has to be done once. This procedure needs to be repeated for the program javaloader.exe which resides in the C:\Program Files\CrackUtil.
It seems many of you are having difficulty getting Vista and CrackUtil to play nicely together. If you have followed the extra step for Vista users above, and are still having issues such as “Access Denied”, you need to follow these alternative instructions. You still need the Generic service books above. Once downloaded, unzip by right clicking on the zip file and select extract all. You will also need a copy of your Storm operating system installed on your pc. You can find the os version you have by going to options>about on your Bold. For most of you it will be v4.6.0.167. If so you can download at blackberry.com here. Once downloaded, launch to install to your pc. Next right click on your desktop and select to create “new folder”. Now go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\{Your OS Here}\Java. Locate the module net_rim_bb_browser_daemon typically in the fourth row down. CAREFULLY right click on it and select cut. Close the window, open the folder you created on your desktop and paste the module into there. Close the folder. Now open Desktop Manager and run Application loader Add/Remove. The module will be removed. Once that is successful move on to step #2 (below) to load the T-Mobile service books. When that is done, open the folder you created on the desktop. Right click on the module and select cut. Return to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\{Your OS Here}\Java. Right click and paste the module back to it’s original location. Close the window and again open Desktop Manager and run Application Loader Add/Remove. At this point you will have a working browser.
****** If you are on BES, Follow the guide BEFORE setting up on the BES server. If you have already done so. You’ll have to either remove the device from the server, or from the server have them disable all the wireless sync options for your account. To do so, in BES, right click on the respective user, go to properties, and then the PIM sync tab. Uncheck wireless.*****
Connect the Storm (and leave connected throughout the procedure) to pc and open CrackUtil. Select the File Manipulation Tab, then Retrieve File Listing. Scroll down until you see the module net_rim_bb_browser_daemon And select “Remove File From Device”.You will likely get either an Exception or Uncaught Exception Error Or Grid Index Out of Range at this point. That’s normal, ignore and continue.

Exit CrackUtil.
On the left hit file and open the service books you downloaded and unzipped. Hit the button in the middle to transfer them to the Bold.
Enjoy!

You may no longer have to do these steps! It seems T-Mobile may now have the proper Bold Service Books. If you have a BlackBerry Data plan, go to MyTmobile Log in, go to email set up and choose change device. Enter the Bold’s PIN and IEMI number and send service books. You may also need to register with the network by going to options>advanced>host routing table>menu>register now. Good Luck. Let us know. And don’t for get to set your TCP APN settings by going to: Options>Advanced Options>TCP. APN should say wap.voicestream.com Nothing under user name or password.
If you chose to install the service books with AIM. You will then go to mobile.blackberry.com from your Bold to download and install the AIM application.
