I was an early adopter of the G1. Loved the OS but hated the hardware. G1 was a black brick. Luckily, the new Android phones are a lot sleeker e.g. Google Nexus. For the past year, I’ve been on the Blackberry. I was on Blackerry for the following reasons:
- Locked to T-Mobile
- 90% of my close friends on BBM Messenger
- I can type fast while working, driving, watching TV, etc.
- Small form factor
Here’s why I’m switching over to the iPhone 4 after today’s press release:
- Still locked buy $199 is tempting
- Close friends are leaving Blackberry and introduction of iPhone’s BBM clone
- I’ll learn to type
- iPhone got thinner
- 720p video recording / 5MP camera
- I need it for iPhone App development (Main Reason)
What I don’t like about iPhone 4:
- One US Carrier – AT&T. Their network alone cannot maintain the bandwidth required. That’s probably why they’ve introduced tiered data usage.
- Video conferencing calls only work on WiFi. iPhone4 should be the best and if HTC Evo4 can do it, so should iPhone4.
- Still no playblack support for open souce video codec (e.g. Xvid/Divx) – probably never will
