Haha.. you’re too nice. My review is basically just a simple bottom line analysis.

In regards to the possible price spike, even I’d like to know. But as of now, I think we all know the G1 launch wasn’t as glorified as iPhone’s. It all comes to the supply issue. After talking to T-Mobile stores and representatives, I’ve been able to gather the following information.

T-Mobile Stores:
The phones appear to be sold out in at least half the stores.
They’ve stated that they won’t be getting a new shipment till Christmas

T-Mobile Representatives:
The phones are selling like hotcakes.

This all could be artificial hype T-Mobile may be creating to increase artificial demand of the product. Another clue that could point to this artificial hype would be the fact that T-Mobile, strategically held back some of the pre-orders and let their supply of phones go out to the stores to be bought by people who have not yet purchased a G1 since the pre-orders were already locked in.

I think the low supply will be in fact the case. The question whether the price spike will happen before Christmas, in my opinion, depends on the popular opinion of the phone by the public in the next few weeks. Otherwise, RIMM’s Bold and Thunder are about to take over the rest of consumers that didn’t purchase an iPhone because of the keyboard they needed.

Tip for T-Mobile – GET SOME APPS UP IN THE MARKET, ESPECIALLY APP FOR EXCHANGE.

Great review, and your feelings are pretty much in line with most others at the moment. I’m curious to see what happens as the holiday season approaches – will we see a spike in sales? Will it reach iphone levels? Who knows.
